Purple Sprouting

This extremely cold-hardy heirloom produces deep purple florets that turn green when cooked, offering extended, flavorful harvests.

About Purple Sprouting

This heirloom variety produces distinct deep-purple florets that boast a buttery, nutty flavor and high nutritional content. When consumed raw, it adds beautiful color to dishes, but transforms to a traditional green once cooked. It is extremely cold-hardy, thriving as a long-season crop that reliably yields abundant side shoots for an extended harvest after the initial central head is removed. Harvests typically occur around 120 days when grown through summer, or up to 200 days for a spring yield when overwintered.
