Milkweed
Tweedia
Cultivated for its rare true-blue, star-shaped flowers, this vining plant is a striking ornamental and cutting garden gem.
About Tweedia
This variety showcases rare true-blue, aquamarine, star-shaped flowers, often with lavender buds and fading blooms, which are sweetly scented and attract general pollinators. It forms a vining plant with slender, twining stems and soft, fuzzy leaves, but unlike other milkweeds, it is not considered essential for monarch caterpillars. A valued cutting flower for its unique color in arrangements, it is also deer resistant; however, its sap is toxic and contact should be avoided.
