About Egyptian Walking

This perennial onion variety is known for its distinctive self-propagation, forming small bulblets on the tips of its stalks in late summer. These bulblets become heavy, causing the stalks to bend to the ground where they root and establish new plants, creating a "walking" effect. All parts of the plant are edible; harvest the green tops, the aerial bulblets, or the small underground bulbs, which offer an onion-like flavor often used similarly to garlic.
