Outer shell is easier to open than other squash varieties, yet this terrific new introduction still has an exceptionally long storage period - up to a full year! Enjoy the sweet, firm, dense orange flesh whenever you're ready; it is superb for mashing and roasting, nutritious as it is delicious. Squat-shaped, gray-blue fruit weighs in at 11 to 15 pounds apiece. Plants have good powdery mildew resistance, too. It will become your go-to winter squash!
