About Haru No Kagayaki

The name of this late flowering Japanese type translates to “the brilliance of spring.” It produces a densely packed single spike of richly fragrant, rosy-pink blooms. The strong, thick stems are smothered in ruffled petals, ideal for arranging or cottage garden design. A favorite for ikebana, the Japanese art of floral arrangement. This single-stem variety requires a chilling period and therefore should be planted in late winter/early spring; it is not suitable for late spring or summer planting. We love to eat stock flowers, which are delicious in salads, baked goods, and other recipes that call for a sweet, warming flavor note.
