Kyoto Red

Known for its exceptionally sweet, fruit-like flavor with watermelon notes and vibrant red roots that intensify in cooler weather.

About Kyoto Red

An heirloom Japanese Kintoki type, this carrot features an exceptionally sweet, fruit-like flavor with subtle watermelon notes and delicate earthy undertones, complemented by a silky-crisp texture. It produces long, tapered roots, typically 10 to 16 inches, whose vibrant scarlet color runs throughout and intensifies significantly when grown in cooler temperatures. Thriving in late summer, fall, or winter plantings (spring cultivation is not recommended), it provides excellent storage quality and is highly versatile for roasting, grilling, juicing, fresh eating, or as a unique dessert.
