About Chesnok Red
This hardneck variety, originating from the Republic of Georgia, is celebrated for its robust, medium-pungency flavor that holds exceptionally well during cooking, particularly for baking and roasting. Bulbs feature distinctive purple streaking and yield 9-10 easy-to-peel cloves, alongside tender, mild scapes. It performs best with cold winters, cool damp springs, and dry warm summers, maturing in approximately 240 days from fall planting or 90 days from spring planting, and stores for 4 to 6 months.
