This variety yields gigantic bulbs with a mild, leek-like flavor, best planted in fall for spring harvest.
About Elephant
This variety produces gigantic bulbs, often 3-4 inches wide, typically containing 1-6 monstrous cloves. It offers a mild, leek-like flavor, superb for roasting or as an accent in dishes, and also produces an edible scape. Plant large cloves in early fall for a late spring to early summer harvest, approximately 240 days later; spring planting yields bulbs in about 90 days. Harvested bulbs can store for 4 to 6 months.
