About Luffa
This plant produces abundant, long, fibrous gourds that typically grow 12 to 24 inches. Its vigorous vines can reach up to 20 feet, making them ideal for training on trellises or fences. When mature and dried, the interior transforms into a natural sponge, excellent for various scrubbing and cleaning purposes or crafting. Young gourds, when green and under 4.5 inches, are also edible.
