Tomatillos
Chupon De Malinalco
A citrusy yellow tomatillo from Mexico with sweet-tart flavor, great in salsas or eaten fresh like an apple.
About Chupon De Malinalco
A citrusy yellow color, pointed shape, and remarkable, sweet-tart flavor make this tomatillo a versatile culinary element. An heirloom treasure from Malinalco, Mexico, it can be used in both sweet and savory preparations. The fruit grows up to 4 inches long and the flavor is more like a sweet paste tomato mixed with a husk cherry! The fruit is used to make salsas; it can also be cooked up like tomatoes or simply eaten fresh like an apple. For fruit production, be sure to plant at least two tomatillo plants, as they are not self-fertile.
