Disease
Verticillium Wilt
Identification
Infected leaves will have yellow, V-shaped areas extending from the edge of the leaf. These areas spread, and the leaves turn from yellow to brown, then die. Fruits can become sun-damage due to the loss of leaves caused by verticulum wilt.
Damage prevention
Plant resistant varieties. Rotate at-risk crops with crops that are not at risk for verticulum wilt.
Physical control
Once the fungus is established in a planting area, it cannot be destroyed or removed.
Chemical control
There are no fungicides which effectively prevent or control verticulum wilt.
