How can I add backgrounds and foregrounds to multiple squares?

Adding custom backgrounds and foregrounds to multiple garden squares is easier than ever!

Note: The ability to customize backgrounds and foregrounds is a Planter Premium feature.

1. Open the Background/Foreground Menu

   

   Tap the paint palette icon in the upper-left corner of the screen to open the background/foreground menu.

2. Select a Background Option

   

   Tap the square background icon to select a background option.

3. Tap to Paint

   

   With the paintbrush icon selected, tap individual garden squares to update the background.

4. Corner Select to Paint

   

   In the background/foreground menu, tap the corner select icon on the Background side then tap the upper-right corner and lower-left corner of a rectangular area in the garden to update the background for all squares inside.

5. Remove a Background

   

   In the background/foreground menu tap the eraser icon on the Background side. Select "Tap to clear" to erase the background from specific squares by tapping or select "Rect to clear" to erase the background inside a rectangular area defined by selecting the upper-left and lower-right corners.

6. Select a Foreground Item

   

   In the background/foreground menu, tap the square foreground icon to select a foreground item.

   Note: Depending on the type of foreground item selected, the foreground can either be dragged and placed onto the garden area, applied by tapping sequential squares, or applied using rectangle corner-select.

7. Drag to Place a Foreground

   

   After selecting a 'Drag to place' foreground item, specify its size - either 1 square, 2x2 squares, or 3x3 squares - using the adjacent square/grid icon. Then press and hold the foreground item image to drag it onto the garden.

8. Remove a Foreground Item

   

   In the background/foreground menu tap the eraser icon on the Foreground side. Select "Tap to clear" to erase the foreground item(s) from specific squares by tapping or select "Rect to clear" to erase the foreground item(s) inside a rectangular area defined by selecting the upper-left and lower-right corners.

9. Select Foreground Items to Remove

   

   In the foreground eraser menu, select which foreground item(s) should be removed from the specified square(s).

10. Tap to Place a Foreground

    

    In the background/foreground menu, tap the square foreground icon to select a 'Tap to place' foreground item. Then, tap consecutive squares in the garden to form connected lines.

11. Confirm Tap to Place

    

    Press the checkmark button in the foreground menu to confirm the tap to place selections. To reset the selection instead tap the circled X.
