Use the garden compass to indicate the orientation of a garden relative to the north. Each garden has its own orientation and compass settings.
Set the orientation manually or by pointing your device compass in the same direction as the top of your garden on the screen.
-
Open the Garden Layers Menu
In the garden view, tap the layers menu in the upper-left of the screen.
-
Access Compass Settings
From the garden layers menu, tap on the "Compass" option to enable the compass and open the "Garden Orientation" settings dialog.
Note: If you have previously set a compass orientation for that garden, tap the pencil icon to open the dialog and use the checkbox to show or hide the compass in the garden.
-
Manually Adjust Orientation
To manually set your garden’s orientation, drag the slider labeled "Manually Adjust Orientation" to rotate the compass needle.
-
Use Device Compass
Toggle on the "Use Device Compass" switch to automatically set the garden's orientation using your device's built-in compass. Point your device to align the compass orientation with the top of your garden on the screen.
-
Save Garden Orientation
Tap the "Save Orientation" button at the bottom of the dialog to apply the selected compass settings to your garden layout.
The compass icon will appear in the lower left corner of the screen. The compass icon shows the garden orientation relative to the north.
-
Hide Compass Display
To hide the compass display, re-open the garden layers menu and uncheck the checkbox next to the "Compass" option in the menu. Garden orientation settings are saved so the compass can be enabled again later if needed.
