Fusarium Wilt
Identification
Fusarium wilt is a fungal disease. Plants with fusarium wilt initially wilt during the daytime only. Gradually, the entire plant turns yellow and wilts.
Damage prevention
Plant resistant varieties. Raise the soil pH to about 7, as the fungus thrives in acidic soils.
Physical control
Completely remove all infected plants. Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilization, as this encourages the fungal disease.
Chemical control
There are no fungicides for home gardens which effectively prevent or control fusarium wilt.
